Pendleton
Pendleton is proudly growing its presence on the Madison County Mural Trail. Pendleton is home to three vibrant murals and a gallery walkway containing five 6-by-8-foot framed murals. The gallery walkway is a new addition that was unveiled in May of 2025. This project further enriches Pendleton’s creative landscape and celebrates the community’s commitment to the arts. Looking ahead, Phase Two of the project will introduce even more artwork along the thoughtfully designed walkway, complete with flowers, seating, and space to relax and soak in the beauty of the surrounding art.
Anderson
Anderson is home to a wide array of vibrant murals, especially in its downtown area. Murals can be found on buildings, alleyways, and public spaces, each adding character and creativity to the city. A notable spot is the downtown Artist Alleys, where rotating art displays invite visitors to stop, relax, and enjoy the art. Anderson is home to three Artist Alleys, all containing unique works by local painters and photographers. Each Alley is within walking distance of the others in downtown Anderson, creating the perfect area to walk around and discover the art of Anderson.
Alexandria
Alexandria’s murals beautifully blend history and modern creativity. The town’s contributions to the Mural Trail reflect themes of time, inspiration, and community pride. While exploring the featured murals, be sure to keep an eye out for Alexandria’s historic hand-painted signs. These remnants of old businesses still grace the town’s architecture. Though not officially part of the trail, they offer an extra layer of charm and storytelling for those who take the time to look a little closer.
Elwood
Elwood may be a small town, but it’s bursting with color and creativity. Murals can be found almost everywhere you look, adding vibrant energy to the streets. One of the highlights is a charming alley lined with murals on both sides, complete with tables and chairs where you can sit, relax, and take in the art along with the spirit of Elwood itself.
