Halloween in Madison County 2024

It’s spooky season! Grab your costume and a basket for endless fun, candy, and thrills!

October 4th

  • Lantern Walk – Maplewood Cemetery
    • 5:30-7:30PM
    • FREE – Donations accepted for Alternatives, Inc.
    • “Join us for our 2024 Lantern Walk. Madison County Historian Steve Jackson and the Herald Bulletin’s Don McAllister will guide participants through the cemetery sharing information about individuals who have contributed significantly to the City of Anderson and Madison County. Come and enjoy an evening stroll through our cemetery grounds and take in the fall colors! This event is free and open to the public. Lanterns and food will be available while supplies last.”
  • Haunted Woods – 1207 N 19th St. Elwood
    • 7-11PM

    • Come have a fun spooky night with us! Park in the front of the school and walk along the north side of the building to the woods. $2 entry includes glowstick. Spooky hour 7-8pm and scary hours 9-11pm.

October 19th

  • Boo Bash – Falls Park
    • 5-8PM
    • Free
    • “Boo Bash will have a trunk or treat (with 30+ trunks), a few food trucks, 5-10 vendors, music, a costume contest, pumpkin carving, games, prizes, and a hayride. Boo Bash is organized by Falls Park.”
  • NOSFERATU with Live Accompaniment on the Page Organ – Paramount Theatre
    • 7:30PM
    • $10
    • “Join us for the 2nd Silent Movie of a 3 movie series Nosferatu the original vampire movie. The film will be accompanied by Clark Wilson of the famed Ohio Theatre. Doors open at 6:30 PM. Admission is $10. Concessions and a Cash Bar will be available.”

    • “You bring the pumpkins, we’ll supply the paint and brushes! Team up with our fabulous resident artist, Palmer Pickett, and let your creativity run wild as you jazz up your pumpkin into something silly or spooky—it’s guaranteed to be sensational!”

October 24th

  • Trick-Or-Treat at the Pumpkin Patch – Hodge Family Farm

    • “Dress up the kids (and yourself!) and come trick-or-treating with us. We’ve got free treats for the kiddos and lots of fun activities to enjoy: Hayrides, Barrel buggy rides, Bounce house, Straw tower, and Playground. No admission fee, just pay for the activities you want to join! Plus, we’ll be announcing our fantastic vendors soon, offering delicious baked goods, fresh apples, cider, cider slushies, and hot cider!”

  • Spirited Spirits Night – Oakley Brothers’ Distillery

    • “Join us for our 2nd Spirited Spirits night! Ever wonder where those scary paranormal shows are filmed? We had a paranormal investigator drive by the building and felt such a strong presence she had to come in and let us know! We had felt the presence and witnessed hauntings for ourselves, so the investigator had two innocent bystanders walk the building in the middle of the night with their investigating team! Starting at 7pm we’ll show you their paranormal video prior to the investigators putting it on their channel! This video shows their true encounters with the spirits in OUR building! After the show the investigators will have a Q&A session, show you their equipment and tell stories of their own encounters! Curious about getting your palm read or see other forms of readings but didn’t know where to go? Come on in! Readings by Mediums are available to do your own personal reading (donations are encouraged). Did you know there are different types of readers? Some follow the lines in your hand, some read cards, some look at your handwriting, some look at your eyes, there are all types of readers out there and we’re going to have different Mediums available for you! Come in your Halloween costumes and let’s have a great SPOOKY night together! Children are welcome, our own children have watched the video however use your own parental judgement.”

  • Haunted Halloween Bronnenberg Home Tour – Mounds State Park
    • 6:30PM & 8PM
    • “Take a candlelit tour of the Bronnenberg Home and learn about the origins of our modern Halloween traditions, Victorian mourning practices, the origins of modern monsters, and much more. This program’s themes are best suited for mature audiences. Tour costs $10.00 per person. Two tour times available: 6:30pm & 8pm. Park Entrance fees still apply.
