“Diversity Dance Festival is hosted annually by Anderson University Dance Program. Open to the public and free of charge. The festival brings high energy cultural dance classes to Anderson University, and the Anderson community at large. 2024 classes range from West African dance to Bollywood style and Bhangra dance. This year also features Dayton Contemporary Dance Company giving a free performance! It also offers our dance majors master classes and connections with major companies like Deeply Rooted Dance Theatre in Chicago. We are honored that we are the only university that Deeply Rooted Dance Theatre visits in the state of Indiana.
Vibrant panel discussions are another highlight featuring elite professional performers and directors. Previous panelists range from Broadway’s ‘Hamilton’ and ‘MJ: The Musical,’ to dancers of the acclaimed Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and Dance Theatre of Harlem. This highly anticipated event blends cultural education with high energy fun. Classes, Performance, and Forum are open to the community (ages 12+). Dance training is not necessary. All you need is a pair of socks, and a body that loves to dance. Come dance with us at AU Dance!”
