“Kevin Weston directs this classic, dark, comedy for January.  In the play, Mortimer Brewster is living a happy life: he has a steady job at a prominent New York newspaper, he’s just become engaged, and he gets to visit his sweet spinster aunts to announce the engagement. He always knew that his family had a bit of a mad gene but his world is turned upside down when he realizes that his dear aunts have been poisoning lonely old men for years!  An uproarious farce on plays involving murder, Arsenic and Old Lace has become a favorite amongst regional theatres throughout America.”

Anderson Symphony Orchestra Presents: Classical Masterworks

Date: February 3rd  

Time: 7:30PM 

Location: Paramount Theatre – Anderson, IN 

“The fourth concert of the ASO season welcomes Sirena Huang, gold medal winner of the 2022 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis and one of the world’s finest young violinists, as our guest artist. She will perform the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D Major. The Beethoven Overture to Egmont will begin the concert, and Brahms Symphony No. 1, one of Sowers’ favorite symphonies, will round out the evening of classical masterworks.”

The Princess Bride: An Inconceivable Evening with Cary Elwes

“Pulitzer Prize-winning, DRIVING MISS DAISY, is set in Atlanta and spans twenty-five years, from 1948 to 1973. When Daisy Wertham, a stubborn, elderly Southern widow, crashes her new car into the neighbor’s garage, her son, Boolie, forces her to take on a chauffeur. He employs Hoke Coleburn, much to her chagrin. At first, Daisy refuses to rely on a black man to get her from one place to the next but gradually Daisy’s prejudices are broken down and, against all odds, he becomes her best friend. Sean Smith makes his dictorial debut with THE ALLEY THEATRE COMPANY in this Alfred Uhro delicate drama.”

Into the Woods

“Weaving together familiar fairytales (Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Little Red Riding Hood) and an original one (The Baker and His Wife), Sondheim’s most popular musical warns us to ‘be careful what you wish for.’ Each character goes ‘into the woods’ in search of something and is changed in the process. Blithe Spirit

Date: February 22nd-24th

Location: Historic Elwood Opera House – Elwood, IN 

Blithe Spirit is a comic play by Noël Coward, described by the author as ‘an improbable farce in three acts.’ The play concerns the socialite and novelist Charles Condomine, who invites the eccentric medium and clairvoyant Madame Arcati to his house to conduct a séance, hoping to gather material for his next book. The scheme backfires when he is haunted by the ghost of his willful and temperamental first wife, Elvira, after the séance. Elvira makes continual attempts to disrupt Charles’s marriage to his second wife, Ruth, who cannot see or hear the ghost.”
